Open Letter to Michelle Malkin

I sent Michelle Malkin an email today, after reading her Fox-News like blog. I am loathe to send any of you there, but you may find some of her stuff interesting. Most of it (in my opinion) is just catering to the Republican party. I don't expect a reply (It's election day, after all) but I thought I would share it with you guys.

Re: Who Will Take the Blame?

Hi Michelle, I was just reading your political blog, being redirected from another site. I wanted to comment on your labeling of the Democrats as "The Basket Case Party". Charlie Cooks' comment aside (I mean, how many other did you poll?) I was wondering if you could produce any evidence that the Republicans are even within a one-mile radius of being honest and less paranoid than the Dems. It wasn't, after all, the Democrats who gave us such overwhelming hits as "The US Patriot Act", "The My Vice Prez Gets Billions Funneled Into No-Bid Unaccountable Contracts" and let's not forget this is the same Administration which claims the power to crush the testicles of an innocent child to make his parents talk and says that no law can stop it. (http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article11488.htm)

I see that you list the continuing demonic traits of "In the spotlight" Republicans as character-building I can't blame the degree of venom your writing reflects these days. It must be depressing to back a losing horse and watch as it not only drops to last place, but tries to blame other horses around it for losing when it was a gimp in the first place.

Still, for a woman who purports such a journalistic aptitude, your professional irresponsibilty is what comes shining through in almost every piece that you produce. Reading through your site, I found very little factual journalisim and accountable responsibility. What I DID see was a whole boatload of undigestable heresay liberally mixed with political finger pointing and issue-avoidance that is so prevalent within the Fox news network. Of course, when I discovered that Fox was once your employer, it all made sense.

So in conclusion, I would like to ask you: Do you really see the Republicans as the "saviour" or this nation? Do you honestly believe thier policies to be something your children can live under? Do you suppose that they will feel safe in a country that resembles Russia during the reign of Ivan the Terrible?

Thanks for your time,

Bobbe Edmonds
