This Is What Happens When You Do All Your Own Stunts.
Umm, the herniated disc/pressed nerve episode has taken a turn for the worse: I now have no feeling in my left hand. This was especially awkward for me, as I was enjoying some midget porn when it occurred.
I apologize everybody, but I'm going to be off the grid for a bit, at least until I get this checked out and recover some sensation ability in my fingers. This might take awhile, as I still have to type while standing up because of my back problems.
I feel like a military academy...Bits and pieces of me keep passing out.
Oh, one last thing...In case I don't post again before January:

Um, medically-speaking, this isn't very likely to be the result of disc problem in the LS-spine, but much higher. Go get it seen to.
It might be a good idea for you to explain what you were doing in training for the week prior to when your injury manifested. Someone here (or higher level silat people who you know) might have some input.
This might be a silat-specific injury that perhaps one of the Suwanda people might have some input on. I remember that shoulder-to-shoulder twists and sapus seemed to really aggravate it; before it blew it started to feel like a fist was clenched in the right lower quadrant of my back.
I wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery.
Dude, major sympathies. And to have it compounded by cutting into your viewing pleasure.
Seriously though, sympathies. Can you hold the phone? I been calling.
btw, It may not be as bad as it seems, not that the disc isn't hell.
I woke up one morning a few months ago to my right arm mostly numb and tingling, especially if I raised it. Why? I was in a hurry when I buffed out a late season wax job on the car the day before.
It really scared the hell out of me. It was really just a pinched nerve due to the usual muscle imbalances from my chronic shoulder and short term overuse. Some motrin, good daily massage and it slowly came back. Not too good a sleeping for two weeks and it's weird using the mouse when your index finger is totally numb. That took about 6 weeks to come back.
It could be as simple as a result of the disc pain causing you to use something in a way it's not used to and this happens. It's a manefestation of the disc but it's not a deeper fortelling of gloom in the disc.
(btw, back problems are like politics and religion. Everyone's got an opinion and will share it. But consider the caring spirit these are given in vs. politics and weigh them all. You know your body best, after all you spend the most time with it)
Hey Brother,
I can heartily empathize with the severe backpain...and it wasn't "no big thing"! Definitely get it checked out! Listen to your body...if you don't the "memos" get worse. :-)
Good luck! Call me if you want to chat!

Hey Bobbe, talk to a chiropractor. I can recommend a REALLY good one right down the hill from you. Won't hurt to see him and it'll cost you less than the MRI or seeing an allopathic specialist.
In fact the whole treatment will probably be cheaper than the MRI + seeing a specialist, not even including the surgery...
