Never, never, I repeat, NEVER trust a man with a computer or technical software background, myself included. The odds are just too damn good that we cut corners, hired an all-Bangladesh support team for pennies on the dollar (if you follow me), and DIDN'T DO BETA TESTING.
Why is this last part so important, I all-caps'd it in bold? Well, ask your friend, the tech geek (we all have one) to help you upload an animated GIF to your blog. No, not as a post. Ask him to set it in the sidebar. Better yet, ask him to tell you how it's done. I mean, a GIF is similar to a Jpeg, Although they (GIFS) were invented four years earlier, and use millions fewer colors. You can upload a Jpeg in three easy clicks.
So, has your techie friend got it worked out yet? He hasn't? What's the problem?
Oh yes. You've hit that invisible wall we in the networking field like to call the "Fucking obvious shit I didn't see coming, although it was the size of Wrigley field with police lights."
And there, as the bard would tell us, lies the rub.
You can't add animated GIFs on blogger. I mean, you can't unless you know HTML, can read a map in the original Latin, and speak some obscure Klingon dialect.
You can TRY, of course. Good luck. Yeah, I just created a photobucket account. Yeppers, tried that cute trick with altering the HTML code. Uh-huh, I have sacraficed three Catholic children to Cthulhu in my backyard. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zed Squelch.
I mean, Come on, Google! This is fucking clown shoes! You people get paid in gold-pressed latinum, for chrissakes, you were the innovators of the web...well shit, I guess it has been almost 10 years now. Have all your programmers grown up and moved to Yahoo.com? Have you ran out of investor funding? Youtube not paying out the way you thought it would?
Maybe someday you'll learn if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Until then? Well...

You look good in silver, Kid. You must be a Winter ...
Linking in a gif is the same as linking in a jpeg or png file html-wise...
Perhaps they're anti animated gif and it's a vast Google conspiracy?
Clearly your jargon wasn't talking to your tech speak correctly and then the geek-speak crashed so I'll throw abbreviations at you until it makes sense MySQL, .NET, AOL, DNS, NAT, HTTP,VO, VB, BASIC, IP, UAC (always troublesome, Thanks Vista), HTML, C++, WINs, NT ETC
Hope that clears it up...BTW I forgot to tell you it only works on Server 2003 with Linux on the same partition.
