My Favorite Quote, So Far

I was having another one of those "spirited discussions" the internet in so famous for in a Silat chatroom, and someone asked how I could call myself a Pendekar, and still expect to be a human being. (For those out of the loop, the title "Pendekar" is reserved for advanced Pencak Silat practitioners.) The consensus in the Muslim Silat community being that the title implied spiritual advancement (or enlightenment) and a relationship with God, niether of which are qualities I posess.

As I was writing a long drawn-out response explaining that I didn't take myself nearly that seriously, someone else (a Muslim Silat practitioner no less) posted this little zinger:

"Bobbe Edmonds isn't a human being, he's a force of nature. He is either bestowed or unleashed upon you, depending on how vengeful God is feeling at the moment."

I laughed for an hour over that.

Your wife wrote that, didn't she?

Yeah, I tell people that Bobbe isn't someone you meet so much as someone you experience. *lol*

I love the quote Bobbe, that one has to go in your book somewhere...

Bobbe,

As strange as this sounds, I hope one day to be on the other end of your whipping stick. Your whipping stick against my ugly stick. I have not had my ass kicked in a while and I am convinced that you could do it in more creative ways that I have never heard of.

Hope you are well sir. I will be moving soon to Saudi Arabia. Job market here stinks so I'm going to ride out the recession over there.

Best,

john
